“Does Patriotism Still Matter”
As I get older, I now have a better understanding on how many people give their lives to our country. Many people don’t realize how wonderful they’ve got it in life. All they do is want more than what they have, and they don’t understand that many people don’t have enough to even life a normal life. Red, White, and Blue are our national colors, without them we wouldn’t have the flag, and without a flag we wouldn’t have national songs like the Pledge of Allegiance and the “National Anthem.”
Our colors play a big part in our country; it is pretty much everything we stand for. Like I said before, without our colors we wouldn’t have many things. Without those things people would not respect our country as much as they would with all of it. To be a real patriot, you must be loyal, and honor your country and your country’s colors.
Another way you can be respectful to your country is by being a good citizen. It isn’t hard to be one, or become one, but it is really easy to lower your opportunities.
The most average way of becoming a patriot is by joining some sort of armed force. After talking to people that has been through these kinds of situations, they have all said about the same thing “Training was, is harder than the actual battle itself!” But they still went ahead and became a solder. Whatever your national colors are, respect them, and no matter where you live, respect your country and you too can be a patriot. Being loyal, a good citizen, and trying to become a patriot sounds like a lot, but when you work hard, you will succeed at many things that you thought you could never do! Just because you think you’re not suitable for these kinds of things, doesn’t mean you don’t try. You never know what you can do when you set our mind to it!
